After reviewing the instruction book, I found this machine very easy to use, quiet and really great in the way it performed. All sewing stitches are very easy to access at the touch of your finger and easy adjustments can be made during the sewing process. The embroidery part of this machine (the real reason I bought it) works very easily, also. I would recommend this machine for it's price, ease of use and compact design. The additional software was too expensive but contains some nice designs. I don't know if I would buy the software right away, maybe after I got to be more expert in the embroidery part of the machine. Still, all in all, a great buy.

This is just a fabulous machine, and such an incredible value! I've gone through three years of just being bored by sewing in general, and now I find myself wanting to sew almost daily thanks to this machine. Easy-to-use interface, even for beginners, plus the embroidery options make this a great machine for novice and experienced sewers alike. You'll fall in love with this machine the moment you take it out of the box!
Excellent machine! Excellent value!

I am so pleased with this purchase! First of all, the operating manual/instructions (DVD included) are very well written and "user friendly." The machine does so much--and for the price! Someone might ask, "Why do you need so many stitches?" --but I think this machine opens a world of creative possibilities with all the included stitches and functions. AND THE EMBROIDERY OPTION!--I love it, and it is so easy to use! The quality and options package on this machine, together with the price, make this an excellent value!!! I have owned a basic Brother for 15 years and have used it like crazy....it's still going strong. I wanted an upgrade, and I think I'll be using this for years of pleasurable sewing and embroidering!
Excellent Machine

I own a commercial embroidery machine and with the market being slow, I have to sell my business along with my embroidery machine. I didn't want to completely stop embroidering so I did some research and this machine has good ratings. I order it and tried it and I love the quality of the embroidery. I also used this machine to make my curtains. You got a good deal with this machine. Combo Sewing and Embroidery in one machine...What a deal!!!!
Excellent Machine at a great price

I purchased this machine originally as a second machine for my small sewing business. I liked the idea of it being able to do some small embroidery work so in case I had a client that wanted their name put on a shirt or other products that I could easily do that. But what fun this machine has turned out to be. It's very easy to use and the instruction manuals and video are great. About a week after the machine arrived and while I was still getting to know it my mother came for a visit. We had so much fun playing with all the features on this machine. Santa is now bringing her an identical machine for christmas! I also love that this machine will allow me to grow and expand with designs for the embroidery. Since purchasing my machine I've also purchased the PED-Basic to use design CD's and designs from the internet. I think my only complaint is that the Brother software only works on a PC and is not compatible with a Mac. So, I'm borrowing my husband's laptop to be able to do that stuff. Otherwise, I love the machine!
I think I am in love......

WoW!!!! Nice machine. I am a beginner sewer, but even with all of its computerized features, I was able to figure it all out by following along in the manual. I've work on simple machines in sewing classes, but this was my first purchase for home. I knew it was a risk, making this kind of investment for my first machine, but I am glad I did. Working with the simple machines in class was good for practice and learning, but I feel like had I purchased a simple machine, I would have quickly outgrown it. This machine is simple enough to do a quick easy project, and advanced enough that I can continue to grow and learn.
The embroidery feature is AWSOME. I had no experience, no instruction, and was able to figure it out with the manual and just a little practice. I can't imagine going without it now. I've put my children's names on blankets, and monogramed purses and towels. LOVE it.

I have sewed for 40 years. This is my first electronic sewing machine. I have used it heavily since I received it and it has performed well. The only problems I've had are operator error (ie. not connected the embroidery foot). It runs smoothly, sews through several layers of fabric, stitches very evenly. The instructions are easy to follow, especially the included CD. For the money it was a great buy.
