The Brother SA250 Thread Cassette works very well. Once in awhile it misses and you have to repeat the process, but it beats doing it the old-fashioned way! The other machine I have is a Simplicity. I never could get the self-threading feature to work on it. I bought the Brother SE270D to replace it and didn't hold out much hope for the self-threading feature to work, given my previous experiences. You will not be disappointed with the Thread Cassette! Especially handy to load several ahead of time for your embroidery projects. I only have 2 cassettes and they work fine for my embroidery. I plan on buying a few more to keep loaded with black and white sewing thread. I no longer fear self-threading machines!!!
