For the price you get a very wide selection of embroidery thread. They do not tangle coming off the spool while in use. After I'm done using the spool I'll put a very small piece of tape to hold the running end of the thread. Embroidery Thread   Date Of Review: August 2, 2010 Reviewed by: C. Sanders, Mishawaka, IN I am new to embroidering and in the process of building up my supplies. The shipment I received was timely and was received in great shape. The colors are positively beautiful. The feel of the thread is strong and from what little embroidery I've done using these spools has been very good. I haven't washed anything yet, so I can't verify that the colors are in fact colorfast. But I'm assuming that won't be a problem. I was a little confused because the spools were advertised as 260 spools of thread each being 550 yards. When I received them, the product actually said 500 meters. It took me a while to realize both meters and yards was being used and at first I thought I had been shorted 50 yards per spool. But 500 meters is equal to 550 yards. Just a little confusing is all. My biggest problem was finding the beginning of the thread. About two thirds of the spools were easy. But the other third, I had to really hunt for it, trying not to damage the thread as I tried to find the beginning. Also, once the beginning is found, there's no way to keep it from unwinding. Rather than cut into the plastic spool, I purchased some clear vinyl, cut it into strips and used that to wrap around the spool and tame the wandering thread. So far, for the price charged, I'd say I got a bargain. But I did have several hours of work to get all the spools ready for use.
